Interesting Facts
Charlemagne Good or Bad?
Charlemagne I feel like made a huge good impact during that time period. I think this because he helped preserve education and without him we wouldn't know as much as we do about the Middle Ages. Another reason Charlemagne made a good impact is he expanded his kingdom to many other parts including some places that we wouldn't know about if it weren't for him. My final reason is he was always happy which caused great things to come out of that time period including beautiful art and etc.

This castle brought protection because the moat and many other elements were built for that purpose. The moat was used to make sure that it was hard for invader to enter and may other parts on the castle helped. The stone walls were made so they could not burn them to the ground or destroy them with weapons. Finally the windows were made specifically so archers could shot arrows out out quickly but it was extremely difficult for arrows to get in.
The Feudal System
The feudal system is where kings give land to nobles who give land to knights who let serfs and peasants live on the land for a fee and labor. The Kings give land to the Nobles who give the kings taxes, protection and loyalty to him in return. The Nobles give land to the knights in exchange the knights give them loyalty, taxes and protection. The Knights protected the serfs in exchange for food, loyalty, taxes, and labor. The serfs don't get ads much as everyone else but have to work the hardest. They receive protection from the knights or nobles and give them their loyalty, labor, taxes, and most of their food. The system was developed so that a overlord (king) can rule his land but doesn't have to focus on all of it. This doesn't seem like the best system because people who work the hardest don't get as much as the people who don't work that much and its not fair.
