The Twelve Tables where the first written laws of Rome. Before these Patricians could change any law to help benefit themselves which caused Plebeians stuff and land to be taken away. The Patricians had not became as ,and felt that everything was fair.
Monarchy to Republic
The Romans switched from Monarchy to Republic for many different reasons. One reason is that the Kings became worse and worse over the years and did little things to help the people . Another reason is they would us the cities money for their own selfish reasons like building a new palace for themselves. The people felt like all the power was in one persons hands and should be more evenly distributed. This is where checks and balances comes into play to make sure that the power of Rome is not in one persons hands. Checks and Balances : A fundamental principle of American government, guaranteed by the Constitution, whereby each branch of the government (executive, judicial, and legislative) has some measure of influence over the other branches and may choose to block procedures of the other branches.
